Capsule Geology

The Leo area is underlain by dioritic phases of the Late Devonian Forest Kerr Pluton (McLymont Plutonic Suite). The showing consists of lenses of quartz hosted within the fine-grained diorite intrusive phase of the Chachi Corridor. Mineralization consists of pyrite, with lesser malachite and chalcopyrite. The lenses of quartz form an overall 040 trend but strike and dip measurements within the trend are variable and further work is needed within the area

In 2019, Crystal Lake Mining Corporation discovered the Leo showing in an area described as consisting of quartz veins plus/minus chalcopyrite clustered within the footprint of a 600 metres long IP anomaly. Multiple samples yielded grades of 5.82 to 21.03 grams per tonne gold along with high-grade silver (up to 71.6 grams per tonne) and copper (up to 2748 parts per million) (Crystal Lake Mining Corporation, Press Release, October 10, 2019; Assessment Report 39128).

WORK HISTORY

In 2019, Romios Gold Resources Inc entered into an agreement to option its Newmont Lake Property to Crystal Lake Mining Corporation. Crystal Lake subsequently changed their name to Enduro Metals Corporation.

In 2019, Crystal Lake Mining collected 2070 rock samples and 6125 hyperspectral measurements were collected throughout Newmont Lake property. The area was also extensively covered by the property-wide soil sampling program. A total of 2624 soils samples were collected, with a main focus around the Chachi Corridor, Cuba, North/Kerr Glacier, and Thumper areas. Soil sampling occurred over a large number of showings including the Leo, within the Chachi Corridor. In addition to geological and geochemical work, approximately 18 line-kilometres of an Induced Polarization (IP) survey was completed along the northern portion of the west side of the Chachi corridor over known showings that included QS (104B 446), Tetra (104B 448), Chochi (104B 461), Tic 5 (104B 549), Leo (104B 717), Brass Rose (104B 723) and Grey Rose (104B 728).

See Chochi (104B 461) for related details of a common work history and related geological information. See Northwest (104B 281) for details of work after the amalgamation of tenures by Romios Gold Resources Inc in the 2000s, when airborne geophysics was done over significant land areas and work was completed on specific targets. Also see Cuba South (104B 334) for further details.
